Plastic injection moulding is a great way to produce large volumes of parts in a fully automated and cost-effective manner. Injection moulding has always been at the heart of ACT’s manufacturing capabilities and forms an integral part of our customers and own-parts product offering. With machines ranging from 50 Tonnes up to 900 Tonnes, and platen sizes up to 1,650mm wide, we offer a wide range of machine sizes to suit a variety of applications. All our larger machines, 550 Tonnes and up, are fitted with 6-Axis robot cells to maximise production efficiency. These robots not only provide accurate and controlled part handling but can also be used to add value by carrying out secondary operations like sprue cutting, in mould labelling and insert moulding, within the moulding cell.
ACT specialises in automotive products, and as such we have a wealth of experience in a wide range of plastic materials from high volume commodity grades all the way through to more exotic engineering polymers. We have a compliment of ancillary equipment backing up our injection moulding machines, to control the process and provide the necessary heating, drying and cooling requirements, needed for stable and accurate part production.
At ACT we offer a full turnkey package, from a design concept to a ‘trade mould’ or ‘parts only’ service. So, whether you already have injection mould tools and need a partner to produce the parts, or you simply have a design concept and would like friendly professional guidance to turn your parts into reality, we can help. We have our own design team, and project managers to see your project move from the drawing board through to finished plastic parts or sub-assemblies. We also project manage any toolmaking requirements you might have and work very closely with a select group of toolmakers in the UK, across Europe and in Asia.
We operate an IATF16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited moulding facility.
